Pharmaceutical-grade salt
An active halogenerator every session, not decorative salt bricks.
Dry salt therapy in Cheltenham, Melbourne. A halogenerator mills pharmaceutical-grade salt into a fine, dry aerosol that fills the room, and you sit and breathe it for forty-five minutes.
About us
Salt therapy, or halotherapy, means breathing air that carries a fine mist of dry salt. Our room runs a pharmaceutical-grade halogenerator for the full forty-five minutes, which is what separates it from a room decorated with salt bricks. People book it to sit somewhere quiet and breathe.
An active halogenerator every session, not decorative salt bricks.
Milled to a few microns, fine enough to stay airborne while you breathe.
Time in the room with the generator running, not time in the building.
The room takes up to four at a time. Book it for yourself or your group.
Sit, breathe, rest. Plenty of people fall asleep.
Bags, phones and books stay outside. You stay fully dressed throughout.
$20
A child can attend with a full-paying adult for $20 per child.
NDIS and aged care providers: please contact the clinic by email or phone to arrange customised sessions and packages.
Pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride, which is over 99% pure and free of the anti-caking agents and additives in table salt. A halogenerator mills it into particles a few microns across and disperses them as a dry aerosol. Salt bricks or lamps on a wall are decoration; they do not produce a breathable aerosol.
Comfortable clothes you do not mind getting a light dusting of salt on, since it brushes off easily. Nothing else comes into the room with you: no bags, phones, books or drinks, and leave jewellery and watches outside, because salt is mildly corrosive over time. There is somewhere to put your things. The one exception is a reliever inhaler, which you should keep with you if you use one.
A child comes in with a full-paying adult for $20 per child, and must stay with that adult for the whole session. We cannot take babies under one year old. Sessions are drug-free. If your child has a diagnosed respiratory condition, talk to their doctor before booking.
There is no set number, and anyone who gives you a firm figure is guessing. Some people come once for the relaxation. Others visit weekly through Melbourne's pollen season. Start with a single session at $55 and decide for yourself. The packs will still be there if you want them.
Yes. There is free off-street parking directly at the door, with level access from the car park through to the room. If you are coming by public transport, Cheltenham station is on the Frankston line, the 828 bus runs along Centre Dandenong Road and the 903 runs along Warrigal Road.
Do not eat or exercise in the hour before your session, and do not drink water in the half hour before or the half hour after. If you smoke, avoid it for an hour before and for two hours afterwards. The full list is in the salt room protocol below.

Before and after a session, please do not:
Most people book for the quiet: 45 minutes with nothing to answer and nothing to do. Beyond that we are careful not to promise anything. Salt therapy is a complementary wellness therapy, not a medical treatment, and it does not diagnose or cure any condition. Whether it suits you is not something we can tell you in advance, so the honest suggestion is to try one session and decide for yourself. If you have a health condition, speak with your GP before booking and keep taking anything you have been prescribed.
On the day, arrive a few minutes early, leave your things in a locker and go in. The generator runs for the whole session. Afterwards you brush the light salt dust off and go: there is no recovery time and nothing to wash off, so most people head straight back to work or on with their day. Some people notice a slight tickle in the throat, and a glass of water sorts it out.
